Can not figure out the year

Serial number 5942429 25 hp Merc manual start F N R on handle... i need a Carb kit for her but im not real sure on the year or where to find the part lol... can you help me out folks

i got this motor for free has Great compression i have gas flowing through the carb but i cant get her to fire, i also am not sure that i have spark at the plugs what should i do to check that ? thanks for your help in advance

1982, pull the plugs out of the engine and use a spark gap of 1 of them to check for spark.

hmmmm..... i dont have a spark. dont know much about boat motors but this thing looks pretty easy to work on... what do i check when i have no spark should i look for bad leads, clips, wires any ideas. oh and thanks for the reply
