How does it work? The greater the degree of deadrise, the better the ride in heavier seas? What would be a good degree of deadrise for an 18' Bay Boat? How about an 18' Center console? Does a greater deadrise increase the V of the bow?
Stalker

Deadrise is the angle of the bottom of the boat.
Basicallt you have a flat boat you have a 0 degree deadrise.
If the bottom is say 6" lower that the rear sides of the boat and the boat is 6 feet wide your at about an 18 degree deadrise.

The more deadrise the tippier the boat. :) Also it will cut through a wave at full speed rather than smack it!

It all depends on what you want the boat to do.
Some are better with 12 degrees and some with 18 or even 20.
