How should the oil filter bypass be set up on a '93 King Cobra Chevy Big Block? It was originally a Gen V 454

I have just put a Gen VI 502 long block in and am using the OEM oil filter adapter, coolers etc. I understand that the oil filter adapter has a bypass valve in it. How should I deal with the oil bypass on the filter pad on the block so that everything works?

Anyone????

Thanks,

Can you pull the old oil filter adapter from the 454 and put it on the new block the same way? I wouldn't think that there would be any difference.

I did. I'm just not sure what the old block had on the oil filter pad for bypass springs and I want to make sure I get good oil flow to the cooler and filter.
