Can someone please help (merc 650).

Hi<br />I have a merc 650 SS i think serial number 2216883.The problem i am having with this outboard is that the tell tale is not working also large amouts of water come from the exaust and out of the holes above the trim tab.I have tried blowing commressed air into the tell tale and trough the water inlet holes but stil no water comes from the tell tale.Can someone please please help me with this problem any information i would be grateful for. Thank you very much.

Is the air flowing through the tell tale? Sometimes they are just clogged at the very end, and a short piece of wire helps remedy.

that 650 is prone to the telltale pluging as it gets it water from the bottom of the exhaust cover alot of times you will have to change it to the pipe plug on the top of the block at the rear of the engine

Is the copper pipe properly installed between the lower unit and the power head?

Hi thanks for the reply.<br />The pipe is not blocked because i poured water down the tell tale and the water jacket, the water from both comes out of the exaust and the join between the lower leg. Im not sure but could it be the water jacket?

i didnt read anything about you changing your water pump or inspecting it. could you have a missing blade clogging up something. ive seen impellars break apart and go all sorts of places in a water system....just some food for thought...let us know

I should have already posted this but the bottom leg has been apart and the impeler pump housing evrything has been inspected.also when started the motor has slot more water then usuual coming out of the exaust.
