Can someone tell me if my motor is an "e-tec"

I have a 1993 15hp motor it is the dark navy color. There is a guy on craigslist advertising a tiller handle for any make of e-tec motor. It appears to be the same color as my motor, dark blue, does that mean that his tiller handle will fit my motor? I guess I dont know how to tell if my motor qualifies as an etec.

No way. E-Tecs haven't existed for ten years yet. E-Tecs are direct injected motors using the latest two stroke technology.

Get the part number of the tiller handle to find out if it's compatible with your motor.

Wilde is right, the older evinrudes did have that same dark blue color, but no way that is an etec since they've only been around for 3-4 years.
