Can the gearcase housing be repaired by welding?

I'm planning to repair my lower unit (Evinrude OceanPro, 175 hp, 1998, 60 degree). It has the front area (torpedo) damaged, it has a dent with a hole about 1/4" dia. Can it be repaired by welding, heliarc or something?

I have seen a product advertized on tv called alumi-loy that claims it will repair it but dont know that to be true.

dgtal i can repair but i stay in canada a good aluminiun welder can repair i do it in mine

thanks sly. BTW, I saw another product called HTS-2000 but it seems to be expensive
