Like many of you I had a paint issue in my fuel cell. 5.7GI motor. I have written to Volvo and I will post IF I get a reply.
My question, has anybody taken the fuel cell, old or new and soda blasted or bead blasted the paint off the inside and did it work?
I think if you soda blasted it any left over bicarb would disolve and could be flushed out prior to reinstallation. I just hate to think that I spent 2,000 deer, new pump unit, pressure valve, and clean injectors, just to have it happen again in a few years.

Without the paint, the inside of the fuel cell, specifically the top where the air is separated, with start to rust. However, it would probably still last longer than the paint does.
