Can this be repaired?

I have a 1973 Johnson 50hp that is leaking oil from a very small hole/crack on top of the engine when the motor is under load. I haven't performed a compression test yet, but if the cylinders have good compression can I ignore it? Can these kinds of cracks be repaired with bondo or something like that? It's a very small hole with no apparent cracking, just a little hole.

Re: Can this be repaired?

Looks like a possible hole from someone trying to pry the flywheel off to me.

I would look at a JB Weld repair.

The only other concern would be if a small piece of metal is floating around on the inside of the motor?

Put some marine JB weld on it, waited a day and a half then took it out and ran it for half a day. Didn't leak a drop. I guess it could be fixed. :)
