Can you identify the make and model of this boat?

Unfortunately, I cannot access the boat plate as it is underneath the motor hook up. Any leads as to the type of boat this is and perhaps the year as well? Thank you in advance for your help. IMG_20141011_174818.jpg IMG_20141011_174744.jpg IMG_20120815_180330.jpg

Is the boat aluminum or fiberglass? looks fiberglass to me but could be wrong. That would narrow down some manufacturers.

Well there is a name written on the back, what's it say? Can't read it in the picture.

La Marénade - the name the previous owner gave to it - homemade name.

It measures 16 feet, has an open deck and what could be called a "bowrider". I believe it could also fit the description of a runabout. I was told in what an 80's boat.

Is this just an interesting boat you saw at the ramp one day?
Or is this a boat you are considering purchasing?

Ask the owner! The info is on the title.

Otherwise check the HIN on the Right Rear corner of the hull. It will reveal the manufacturer and the year.

Thank you UncleWillie. I've already purchased the boat that I have been using for two years now. Its for insurance purposes that I was asking as I was unable to find the info anywhere. I will have a look at the location identified next spring hoping it will be easily seen.

Once again, thank you!

Welcome to iboats!:welcome:

I think Uncle Willie has his arrow in the wrong place. The HIN is usually on the transom, not the side.

There should be a HIN stamped on the starboard side of the transom toward the top. Don't have registration or a title?

A title yes but the make and model is not specified. Purchased from a friend with whom I work.

If you are referring to the plate identifying the various boat info, unfortunately, it is located beneath the 115 hp motor clamp and consequently inaccessible, at least for the time being.

I would find it unusual for the HIN to be under the motor mount, for legal ID purposes it should not be covered
They can be in the Aft Starboard area on the Transom or on the Side Hull.
In any event, it will at least get the OP in the correct area and knowing what to look for.

The current Forum prevents the picture from displaying at full size like it used to. :blue:
Here is a closeup of the arrowhead.

Front of bow looks like it came out of the Starcraft factory. So it could be a Sylvan, Starcraft, Smokercraft, Mirrocraft.
Late 80's,? ss model. But none of their 16'ers were rated for 115hp motors.

What good is a title, if it has no make, model, year, or hull id number on it?

Is there a Coast Guard hp capacity rating plate somewhere near the helm?

SS model ? "Super Sport "

Capacity plate is within reach of the driver, on the dash, the side of the gunnel, or near your feet.

A title will generally state "Certificate of Title" in bold letters across the top.
Where are you located. Most states require a Title to claim ownership.

If you do not posses a Title with YOUR name on it, you may not own it.
You have Possession, but not Ownership.
