I was power washing my motor and bilge area on my Stingray bow rider and of course when you do all kinds of leaves and junk clogs the stern drain, so I reached down and grabbed all the junk I could feel and tossed it over the side to the ground. It started draining pretty good, and a couple times of doing that, it was drained. I found this in the bottom and of course let out a %#$^&@ , well I don't think the out drive has ever been serviced since new? I just don't know, but my guess is that I'm the first to do any work. It is in all other respects well cared for, at least by appearances. Everything seems to work without any questionable ....anything? So, I don't know if this is recent or done some time back. One side of the break has the color of a recent break, the other, it had been for some time. Anyone recognise this as part of a larger piece on the Alpha 1 inside? thanks ....Rich  I think it's cast aluminum, it's fairly light.FOUND

If you can see the entire inner transom ring, take a look all the way around. Maybe the top or bottom of the ring? Keep us posted.

Turns out it's the bottom of the transom plate. I think I can be fine until this winter when I'll change it and also put in a hull gasket.

fastimz, you were right. I looked at blowups and usually have a pretty good eye at spotting similarities in things like the shapes and their possable locations. Ebay provided me with a picture of one of many plates there for sale, and while examining I spoted a possability, went out to the boat climbed inside and with a bit of body english, I could see the absent part clearly on the starboard side.......... Thanks sir..........Rich
