I picked this trim gauge up at a salvage place and want to k ow if I can make it work on my 2006 Mercury 40elpefi. On the side it has CE 780817PMFB 304/08;;

It has 3 wires:

If this will work, where do I connect the 3 wires? I Have a brown/white coming from the sending unit.

It a OMC sterndrive guage and the purp=12v+, blk=12v-, blu = lites and the sender terminal should be under one of the brass nuts... dont know it it will work as it may be backwards..

Re: Can you identify this trim gauge?

Thanks FAZT!
At least I can give it a try now. The sender terminal is what had me lost. I kinda figured the purp/blk/blu but because I couldn't see the 4th wire (brn) everyone mentioned, I just didn't get it. don't know if it will work but at $5.00 for a new gauge (no instructions), it is not a great loss if it doesn't.
Thanks Again!

If it operates backwards, turn the gauge upside down ...;)

For $5 bucks, even upside down will be better than nothing. I would just like to know where the wife or I left the engine....

I gave it a good try but I could only get the light to light. I tested the resistance on the trim sending unit and got a steady increase/decrease in resistance as the engine was trimmed up and down.

Guess I'll have to search out another trim gage...
Thanks for Your help..
