What do i need to reemove to get to my reeds?

Just did a compression check... 100-105 on all 6 holes. Thank God.

I've been told that I have to basically remove the entire front of the motor to get to the reed valves.

Basically correct -- but what leads you to believe they are an issue. What problem are you having that you feel you need to get at them? Diagnose - diagnose - diagnose, then repair.

Someone told me yesterday that my issue was an air leak out of the top gasket onthe crankshaft. Believe it is called an oil seal. Ever heard of this happening? I ordered the part from a foru supporting vendor.

If you have a leaky oil seal the motor will not idle correctly, it will only stay running at high rpm ....
