I used to live on hippy island, but now I am between old people (Sir "OOPS" alot) and mary j wanna (PJs old stomping grounds)!! :D

There was no smoking weed grown up there not above ground. I looked.:p;)

wtf? we have oil in canda????;).....so why does gasoline cost so much???? and nobody mentioned we still use the barter system up here......just did a lil work on an ob and got paid in fresh off the boat lobsters!!:D

I noticed that was a big part of the economy in the maritimes....the ol' barter system and it looked like it was working pretty well and keeping the dough out of the taxman's hands. I'm a big fan of it myself.;)
The hippie element on Vancouver Island...hmmm, I don't see much of that anymore. Salt spring Island and the rest of the gulf islands maybe....but not much of that here in Victoria or on the southern part of the island.
The one thing this town has too much of tho'....is NDP (yikes) all cruisin' to keep the (government?) unionized slacker lifestyle going. Luckily the world of natural selection has been continuing to thin that herd....particularly in the island's private sector unions who have basically negotiated and struck themselves right out of work. However, better days are ahead as a result!!!;):D

Excuse me...I'm from the Canadian Barter Enforcement Board of Inspection...I'm gonna need to sample at least one of those lobsters to determine if they're safe for consumption:cool:

sorry mr.inspector, but the product has been sampled...deemed fit for consumption....consumed, and all non-consumable parts have been properly composted!!! :p ...... :rolleyes: now if only i could find a beef farmer with a non running ob.. surf'n'turf!!
