Re: Canadian Flag Count down

I've had serious urges to head north for some walleye and northern pike fishing ... could that be related to the toy flag flying beside my name, eh?

Used to head to mile post 131 on the Chibugama (sp?) trail and stay at Daliere Lodge. From there we would drive 13 miles and walk another mile and a half through a swamp to get to the lake. Best fishing I ever had. Then Jacques began talking about the Indian Reservation across the river was going to be given his lakes, and we never heard from him again (but then he would head to Cuba to sell things on the black market during the winter ice over and his girlfriend would leave the day his wife arrived ... so between him beating up the Indians that stole his beer, the Cubans, and the wife, I am not sure whatever happened to him). Would love to go to a place like that again ... less than 100 fisherman on the 3 lakes we fished per year. Lakes only opened to fishing for a few years before we started going there. 29 years ago was the last we headed up north to fish ... I gotta get back there again!

There are tons of fishing spots in Canada, Art. Ontario, Quebec, BC and here in Newfoundland. Lakes filled with trout, char, salmon. All calling your name..lol.

Art look up Eagles Nest Resort Anahim Lake BC. The fishing is so good for trout you literally have a very good chance of having one jump in your boat. On average we limit out in about 3-4 hours. Fantastic place to take the kids for fishing. From shore or a small boat best fishing guaranteed. When I was a kid I grew there and we go back every few years. The fish are all about 1/2 -1 pound. Check it out.:)

Puddle jumper 1/2 - 1 pond fish. I could use those for bait to catch 40 -60 pound catfish here.:D

I have to say you guys have sucked it up and have been great sports. Can't take that away from you all. It goes to show that even if we live in different countries that there is always something that brings us all together. If only the rest of the world came half way, what a great place it would be.

My word is my word ... doesn't matter if it is a forum or in person ... and you guys up north are alright ... but you are right, tall, if the rest of the world would realize we have more in common that we have uncommon, and if we could come together on that common ground, the world would be a much better, and safer place. Unfortunately our human nature is to protect ourself at all cost. And that is what makes it hard to accept others, you can't protect yourself when your arms are outstretched to help.

Can you imagine them up here driving in the snow all winter. lol. Nothing I can do about the tipping though. I guess most of them have never had to work hard for a living. Can't appreciate that tips are part of an income.
