Geez,<br /><br />Are we going to have to set up a "Northern Front" between us and our good friends from Canada?<br /><br />A rival HOCKEY team from the US got booed upon arrival in Canada. Now there's a big shock and awe! <br /><br />Granted they are pee-wee, but they are probably quite used to it anyway, whith thier own US fans (the parents).<br /><br />What is the upside to this constant needling between two very close allies?<br /><br />Marty

I have three daughters, ages 26,22,17. The oldest is a store manager, one is in CSUC and the other is a senior in HS with honors. I couldn't be moe proud of them all. This includes thier peers.<br />I'm pretty well connected with my girls and thier friends. I have to point out that from what I've learned and experienced, is that the protesters are an extreme minority. I'm constantly reminded just how conservative the pendulum has swung in our youth. I and they, attribute it mostly to President Clinton. According to my daughters, it was that his shenanagans that alienated a very perceptive youth.<br />I work with and train a part time student that went to HS school with my middle daughter. Last month he enlisted into the Marines officer training corps. Two days ago he and I attended a pro troop/ flag rally during our lunch break. Many youth were present.<br />Again, from my observations I'm very proud of our youth and I have high hopes for our future. <br />With this conservative foundation in our youth, I do all I can to educate as much and as many as I can on the principals of the US Constitution. This is why I harp on it so much, because of the lack of education in our schools on this supreme document.<br />After all, my children, thier education and guidance, spiritual growth, and a spirit to preserve and protect our freedoms, is my purpose in life. <br />Maybe many here in the US and in Canada can learn from our youth. At the very least, quit damageing them.<br />As for me, I'm planning to make available more time to become more active in promoting conservative political/ spiritual education to our youth. This I hope, may counter-act some of the damage that was done to the youth at thier hockey game.

why would an insignificant matter such as this, a bus full of american hockey players getting booed by a small number of canadians, even make front page news??????? is somebody trying to drive a wedge between the two best countries in the world?<br />even worse is that people would be naive enough to believe that these few french idiots would and could represent the views of all canadians.<br />c'mon.

I sure wouldnt think it was insignficant if it was my kid on that bus.<br /><br />I'm sure the kids didnt think it was insignificant.

by no means trying to belittle the situation, i too wouldn't and don't want my kids to go through something like that either....at the same time i don't beleive that this is an international incident between ALL canadians and ALL americans.

cotterman,<br />I agree with you.<br />I dont think it is time to start massing troops at the border over this.<br /><br />But this isnt the only incident I have heard of.<br />Acouple of weeks ago in Montreal at another hockey game the crowd of over 20,000 booed when the American national anthem was played.<br /><br />What did we ever do to Canada to deserve this treatment??<br /><br />It is just so disrespectful.

last years playoffs the leafs and ny islanders<br />crowds on long island booed our canadian national anthem, 1992 us marines carried our flag upside down in atlanta during world series<br />stuff happens back and forth....we do not hold grudges we move on.<br />even family members have problems but it doesn't mean we don't respect each other.

I've been watching this thread go for a while on purpose.<br />I wanted to find out if my opinions were unique.<br />I'm sure they are not now.<br />My opinion is, Your govrnment is getting like ours was in the 70's-80'2,and most of the 90's.<br />Y'all need to regain control of it,before the socialists completely overshaddow the humanities you once exhibited before this french-english divisionary movement destracted the common Canadian from thier leadership. Slyly, the inmates are now running the asylum, just as our state of California (will the last conservative to leave the west coast grab the flag and take it with them?).<br />We have had our cival war, and to this day, some of us good ol boys still raise the rebel flag,as part of our heritage. but the day they demand "reperations", they best be prepaired to the fight.<br />I say all that to say, you need to make a stand (and I'm well aware,many of you ARE at this time), and regain the reigns of those who set foreign protocol.<br />I hate the French...Not the people, the government,and those they represent.<br />Same with Canada. If you agree with your government's international principals, I got no use for you.<br /> :eek: If, on the other hand, you feel that the time has come to vote the rascals out, let's go fishing next time you're visiting Florida.<br /> :cool:

eh Im Canadian NOT FRENCH CANADIAN you should see how the quebecers treat non french speaking Canadians sorry about that. In Quebec they have an attitude all to them selves and since Celine Dion they seem to think that they own the world. I as a Canadian thank all you Americans for letting me sleep at night and getting ride of the worlds bullies <br />THANKS BUD

I am Canadian and proud of it. I apologize for any uncalled-for hard feeling some of our population have inflicted....I hope that Americans realize that there are "wank heads" in every country, and we certainly have our share. <br /><br />I think our government owes The US a public apology for several issues. I just wish our representatives were wise enough to do so. Please don't judge us on their ignorance.<br /><br /> Every country will have different perspectives on different issues, but I don't feel we've presented our opinions in a noble fashion.<br /><br />What this world needs is a common enemy like in the movies like "Alien" Independence Day" "War of The Worlds". It would allow the world to focus their hatred and fears away from the planet, allowing us all to act as brothers working to a common goal.<br /><br />I remember watching the "Notradamus" flick about 20 years ago. The content fits today, and scares the hell out of me....I hope we all live long enough to prove him wrong......

Quebec (Montreal) are not a representation of<br />Canada at all. They are aligned with France.<br />They think they are a special society. And do<br />not even recognize english as a language and it<br />is against the Law in Quebec to have english<br />reading signs. These people do not want to be<br />recognized as part of Canada, Again they are <br />special in there own simple minds.The Primeminister<br />of Canada is for the most part despised in Western<br />Canada. He is French and he speaks and represents<br />Quebec .In the west we would appreciate it if <br />they would separate from CANADA. We do not think<br />alike! If we had a larger percentage of the <br />population in the west we would certainly not<br />allow the French to represent Canada.The French<br />are cowards on this Continent, and in Europe.<br />And they prove it when ever they can. Including<br />at childrens hockey games.

I know that we are adults and we have rights to voice our opinions freely. However, the children didn't have any say on matters at hand with the worlds affairs. <br /><br /> They are interested in playing games and having fun. Children think as children, they do not think on the same things we adults do.<br /><br />What was done to that hockey team was brutal and wrong. If it was an adult hockey team, then it would be different.<br /><br />Children need to be protected by all of us from our own politics. It doesn't matter what nationality you are.
