For many years I have noticed that during the late winter/early spring there are lots and lots of our friends from Canada that go to Mrytle Beach SC. Never asked why but wonder. Its a long way from home are they just returning from florida going back or what. Just curious?

I know several families that winter in Texas, and return to Ontario about April 1st.

I know several Canadians that go in that timeframe for a week or two. Its so they can tune up their golf games for May when we can start to play again.

SC (the Carolinas in general) have some beautiful golf courses

When I lived in Daytona Florida we normally saw the Canadians arrive in March. Figured that the cold winter allowed them to expect a early spring break.

myrtle beach is a big destination. my mother always wanted to go spend time there. my dad said if you want to go to the beach, it's just 30 minutes away. he did not like to travel.

What Nelson said , golf a big part of it. Also from southern Ontario it's just one days drive. Don't need to fly with all the hassles involved, just throw your gear in the car and go. Me, I'd rather be at my cottage and out on my Ski-Doo. But lots of folks just need to get over cabin fever before they shoot six holes in the freezer!
