I?ve been trying to solve my high-rpm overheating problem for weeks now. So, the marina is pulling my boat out of water to check/replace O/D impeller (even though it?s probably fine). Other than checking that the pickup inserts are flush with the drive, and checking the intake hose from bell to gimbal housing, IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE TO CHECK??? (think ?out of the box?)

Background info:
1991 Mercruiser 5.7 Alpha One saltwater cooled
Replaced engine with remfr?d long block in ?07
Y-pipe replaced in ?07
O/D impeller/housing replaced pre-season
Elbows new
T-stat & housing new (new style w/ brass tee)
Manifolds have 3 1/2 seasons on them
Engine circulating pump new
Temp sender replaced a few years ago and gauge seems to be fine
No noticeable restriction on O/D intake pick-up holes, and haven?t hit bottom this season at all.
The ?excess? flow (through the check ball Tee fitting) to the elbows seems to reduce to a trickle at higher speed/rpm?s. I have clear vinyl hoses on T-stat hoses, and hose coming from drive.
