I have an old engine that runs and has been over heating.
It is a sears gamefisherman 7.5 model number 217 566754 serial number 780 10949
Question
Does anybody have a clue if this engine is air cooled or water cooled. I believe now that I have been taking it a part I don't see an impellor/water pump or thermostat but I do see radiator fins so I am assuming it is overheating because of being dirty or because the cover is cracked and letting air escape before the fins are cooled...
Can anybody with more experiences tell me definitely if it is air cooled or water . And if its air cooled correct me if I am wrong but the only thing it could be is cleaning and making sure the cover circulates the air properly. That should fix any cooling issues correct... or is there more issues to fix an air coolant system that I am over looking?
Question 2
I called sears and they said they didn't have parts for my model or it didn't come up as existing on there site.
The model/serial is given in the sticker in the inside of the engine after you take off the cover. Does anybody know the year of this model or weather I can get an old manual for it. Something in pdf... This engine is pretty light weight and simple to take apart for 95% of the components I would imagine any general manua similar to this model number/year gamefisher would do.
Thanks for any help I will post a picture soon
