I've been either posting or viewing for some years now, but it seems that since I moved to Singapore, I've been having trouble connecting to the forums. The first year or so, I would connect ~half of the time that I attempted. Perhaps this was due to me trying to connect from different places--from home, from mobile, or from work.
In the last year or so, I haven't been able to connect at all. Bummer. I read some old posts which suggest that perhaps my area is known for spammers (I wouldn't have thought so--Singapore is relatively free from such annoyances in my experience), and that IP addresses from here may be blocked.
Anyway, I don't have to deal with the headaches of spammers as the Mods do, but I can understand the 'better safe than sorry' mentality. Could I possibly PM my IP address to a Mod to have an exception? I am now connecting through some proxy service (which I don't fully understand) but I'd rather connect normally. Thanks.
