I am looking to buy a 2005 115 HP standard 2stroke motor, but the merc factory says this model does not have Trim position sender to send the signal to the Trim gauge. Bummer and strange. Is there a way to find an aftermarket type to attach? Not sure what the sensors even look like. Any input will help.

Does the factory say there is no sender available ? Lots of Mercs don't come with the sender, but you can order one and put it on.

The dealer I was working with said they did not see the mounting spot and they spoke to two techs at Merc and Merc indicated they can not supply one for that motor. Then I spoke to customer service and they said they do make one. Turns out this motor is a 115 that cuts off the bottom two cyclinders at low RPM and I will not be getting if for that main reason anyway, as I've been told it is bad for skiing and wakeboarding by several sources.

They do have a trim sender for that motor it mounts on the starboard side, the blade color is white, av 6 mounts on the port side and the blade is black, don't have the part # here but can get it.
