cant find fuse 2001 jon 250

i was hooking up the gages and two pos wires touched and i cant find a fuse or some type of reset on engine please help im going crazy i still got power to my accesorys i think or hope theres a fuse on the engine i blew

[Edit] You should have a fuse on the engine similar to the one shown in the thumbnail (Click it twice).

If this is a Johnson 2001 250 it had carbs and was not FFI. The fuse you're looking for should be close to the starter solenoid in a red connector and will be 20 amp.

I looked and didn't see anything like that is that the top or side of the engine ?

Ya its got carbs and I did see a bright red little thing I hope ur right because I don't have the cash to fix a big problem u would think there would b a fuse in the harness somewhere thank u sooooooo much man ill check in the morning

That bright little red thing should be approx 1/2" in dia and 1 and 1/4" long. You twist it a little bit and pull it appart. Inside you should find a 20 amp fuse.

i dont want to sound stupid but i gotto ask so i know what to look for tomorrow so ur saying that red thing holds the fuse ? and one more question is that the only fuse on the engine 2001 jon 250 W/carbs i just got it and dont know much about it thx again

If it is what I think it is there should be a wire coming out both sides of it. This fuse controls all the current going to your ign sw and ect. Only one on the mtr. Seeing your new to this I would highly recommend you get an OEM service manual. Stay away from Seloc or Clymer. They should have them available on this site or Ken Cook in Mikwaukee Wi.
