cant find need help

i have a 1976 evinrude 6hp outboard that i use to duck hunt i need a carb for it and cant find one for that year. i found one that looks the same for a 1979 but dont know if it will work. the boat mechanic i took my engine to said the rich lean knob was broke inside and needed a new carb but he cant order one. is there anywhere i can find one or any advice. thank you

Look in the "Top Secret File" at the top of the forum page and there is a list of salvage yards in there. Good luck, that's a great motor you got there and is well worth the effort to repair.

thank you ill check into that i like the little engine im hoping to get it fixed before duck season comes in

try www.boats.net. Looks like they may have some carbs for 1976 Evinrude 6HP. Need your model number to be sure though. I don't know about interchangeability with 1979.

79 was the last year of the same design. 80 and newer was a different motor. A carb from a 79 model should work on a 76 model.

Thank you. I found a 79 and they look the same I just wasn't for sure and I'll look on that site. Thanks again I hope I can find something.
