Can't find the model# on my 60 Johnson

Hi all I just got a 15' flats boat for my son as his college graduation present, It has a 3 cylinder 60 horse Johnson VRO on it and can't find the model # anywhere, I need to rebuild the carbs and waterpump before I give it to him but can't get parts without a model #. I'm guessing it's between a 83 and 93 because of the VRO, Got any Ideas!

Isn't there a plate on the transom mount? I just looked for my model numbers and was looking all over the engine....looked online and figured out that it's actually on the transom mount...makes sense too. If you replace the lower unit or the power head, you'll still know what you are supposed to have to match the remaining parts.

look for a quarter size disc like this

redfury, I have no plate on the transom mount.

tashasdaddy, I have that number G2549942 isn't this the S/N? G could be a 6

I guess this number does no good! any other way I can tell what year this is?
I did try to referance some part#s on the engine and my coils have P/N 582508 and the powerpack has P/N 583748 which says that its a 89-92. Anyone have anything else that might help?
