I cannot find tires for my 2001 Trailstar single axle trailer. I have ST205/65D14C Tow Master II ST tires currently on the trailer. I've called quite a few places and nobody seems to carry them anymore.

Re: Can't Find Trailer Tires

When I needed for my sig boat trailer a 6 lug rim and some 6 ply, 205/75/I think 15's, I think I could have just as easily found some UFO's. 6 lug was unheard of and the tire size can't recall exactly what as the above is my recollection, was apparently unheard of as well. I called everybody within several states plus searched the internet and even Shorlandr and low and behold the only place that could get one was my neighborhood GoodYear. They are a rip-off/lie to your face type of shop so took them off my list until I became desperate. They had one supplier that could get what I neededed and they were the only ones that did it as though it was a daily occurrence not a complete impossibility as the other hundred tire places did. What I'll say is brand wise you get what you get as there was no selection. I have to say, it was suprisingly frustrating to located a simple tire and rim.

It would have been a lot easier to just change the hubs over to a standard rim.

Re: Can't Find Trailer Tires

Seems like 205/75-14 is the norm for trailer tires. Since they are both 205 mm wide, they should fit the stock wheels. You would want to check fender clearance as they are a little taller:

205/65-14: Diameter is 24.5" versus 26.1" for the 205/75-14. This means you need roughly 7/8" more room between the tire and fender width. The slightly larger diameter tire will turn about 7% slower, and since the sidewall is taller, you might get a little softer ride.

Wal-Mart has this size in most stores by the tire lube express area, already mounted on galvanized wheels for about $110. In a pinch you could buy one, install it and check for rubbing. If all is well either keep them or bring it back and get the ones you wnat installed on your rims.

Mine takes the same tire, and I've never been able to find them in town. I just bite the bullet and order them when I need some. Is there a Suntracker party barge sitting on it by chance?

Re: Can't Find Trailer Tires

Well, this was 4 years back when I just bought my boat and was just trying to mount a spare since it didn't come with one before the first road trip. I was just excited to have the boat and wasn't contemplating the idea of changing rims and tires when the rims and tires were nearly new.

Re: Can't Find Trailer Tires

I recently upgraded my trailer from chinese load range C 14" tires to Kumho load range D 14" tires from tirerack.com. I believe Kumho is the only tire maker that makes a 14" load range D tire.
