cant find year of mercury anywhere

can anyone help pinpoint year of my motor ? its a 50hp 4cyl 2 stroke with serial number 9232656 i have had no luck tracking down year ,thanks in advance .....jim b

I called mercury service and they told me the year, model, where/when it was purchased. You can get their # here http://northamerica.mercurymarine.com/utility/contact/
