I seached all sites I can find and can't fiqure out year for 4 HP merc serial no 9148708. Can some one advise and also share web site you found it at, thanks.

Check out the s/n tool on the Mastertech website. If I read the list correctly, you have a 1977 motor.

Sounds like a 2 cylinder 4hp GNAT. If you need any info at all on it don't hesitate to ask - I've got quite a bit. But if you're not getting a response send me a PM. I only occasionally look through the Merc forum.

Much maligned, but they can be made to be good running motors.
