cant get enough fuel at full speed

i just bought a boat with a 150 johnson you can pump the bulb start it and idle and where you want to , but after you get up on a plane it start sucking the bulb dry and it will start dieing, if you pump the bulb it picks right back up, does it need a fuel pump or is there somthing else that i can fix?? thanks for any help

Sounds like your tank may not be venting correctly.<br /> <br /> When you say sucking dry .<br /><br /> Do you mean it gets flat?? <br /><br /> If yes, then it would seem your fuel pump, is trying to get fuel.<br /><br /> But there's a vacuum .<br /><br /> Due to a closed or faulty vent.<br /><br /> Also check the check valve on the tank, and your fuel bulb.<br /><br /> Good - Luck,<br /><br /> KYHunter
