Can't get full power (easily)

I have a 1996 Tracker 120 Force and I can't seem to keep it at full power -- semmingly due to the throttle or cabling or something. The throttle moves freely forward and reverse, but when I push it all the way to max power, if I don't keep pressure on the throttle, the handle moves back a fraction of an inch and the RPMs reduce.

I'm guessing it is a "simple" mechanical fix, but I'm not as familiar with the boat as I would like (took it out for it's 2nd trip last weekend). Anyone have a direction in which to look? Any pictures of if/where the adjustments can be made?

Thanks in advance for the help . . .

There should be a knob or something to adjust the tension on the throttle. It also may need to be adjusted to open the throttle sooner. If you move it forward a good bit before the throttle starts to react you might need to adjust it so it comes on sooner and gets to wide open throttle before it runs out of travel. Post a picture of your controller and someone will tell you where the adjustment is.

Not sure about the Force, but the tension adjustment is in the round part of the throttle handle. See if you can pop off the center cover and then look for a screw adjustment inside.

The throttle is a Quicksilver 300 series without the trim buttons . . .

I think it's like a COMMANDER 3000 PANEL (88150A40 THRU A48)

Anyone know how or where to adjust this ?

Anyone have an electronic version of the owner's manual ?

Thanks in advance . . .

I'm betting that one of those panels will pop off giving access to the tension adjustment.

control box is not adjustable, properly adjust you cables at the motor.
