Cant get the outdrive so slide on!!!!!!

Yes, you have to check the alignment of the coupler with the gimble bearing and adjust the engine height if not in line. In addition to that, you need to keep the driveshaft level with the gimble and hub when sliding the drive back in.

Have you put it in gear and turned the prop a bit to help align the splines?

I put a socket and breaker bar on the crankshaft and bump it while the drive is being pushed back on the gimbal housing.
