After removing the housing on my 1987 90hp Envinrude the impeller remained
on the shaft. I tried prying it with a screw driver and didn't it didn't budge.
Is there method for removing the impeller when it's stuck to the shaft?

Thanks

I believe that will have a plastic sorta wedge-shaped key. I rap them sideways with a hammer between two vanes in the direction of spin. That usually pops them free.

Well.....try soaking the thing with some good penetrant like PB Blaster. Sometimes....not often.....this will get it lose. Most times I just grab the dremel tool with a small cutting disc and cut into the side of the impeller through the brass hub. A screw driver can then be used to pry the hub open. If your really steady, don't cut all the way through....just a nice deep groove. A chisel can then be used to wop it open.
