I continue to be interested in the true history of my used 1997 Bayliner Capri 1950. While I have the orginal purchase receipt and a solid track record of maintenance, registrations, etc, the capacity plate on this boat is for a Bayliner Capri 1850, not a 1950. Therefore it reads 950 lbs and 7 persons, versus 1050 lbs (I think) and 7 persons. I am aware that no one ever looks at or cares about this sticker, but it has me wondering how it got on this boat in the first place. Should I have the plate changed or just leave it be? Does this seem particularly odd to anyone and possible the indication of something not proper in past. (and BTW, the trailer, hull, engine VINs are all in good standing).
Thanks,
CL
