I have acquired a 1990 Panther 1700 bowrider however the capacity plate is missing. I cannot obtain the information from the manufacturer as he has gone out of business. I would greatly appreciate if anyone might be able to furnish this information or direct me to a source where I may possibly may be able to obtain it. Thanks.

Re: Capacity Plate

Welcome to the iboats.com forum. The experts here, which I am not, can help you solve any problem involving a boat, motor or trailer. My experience with purchasing a used boat without a capacity plate led me to the USCG Manufacturers' Identification Code (MIC) database. The first three characters of your boat's HIN is the MIC. Input that into the the USCG database at the link below and you might find some names, addresses and telephone numbers that may be helpful. I was able to do that on a boat I purchased and the builder had been out of business under that name for ten years but had another business at the same address with the same telephone number. He was very helpful and seemed pleased that I was committed to saving a boat that he had built. Good luck!
