Does the hull have a serial no. molded into the transom? Does the no. match the plate? Does the plate have the Larson name on it?

JimS123..there is no serial number on the hull..as a matter of fact, on my registration card through the State of PA there are a bunch of asterisks (*) where the serial number would go. To my understanding, many of the older boats did not have serial numbers etched into the boat. The plate on there is a Larson plate...however, I recently learned that Larson changed ownership at least three times since the early 70's. One reason that they are not much help to me with this older style boat.

"Many" boats have some sort of serial #, and that's how they originally got registered. I had a 1939 Wagemaker years ago and it had a #, and my current 1952 Lyman has a number.

Nevertheless, some boats did not have a number, hense they were registered with ****. The uniform registration number policy started some time in the seventies, but I don't know exactly when. Look it up!

The plate you showed had a SN. Your boat should be registered with that #. Since it isn't, it is quite probable that your plate was transferred from another boat. Maybe the boat was stolen at one time. I googled your model number and Larson models from that time period and they don't compute.

I would let sleeping dogs lie if the capacity plate wasn't a requirement..I was just letting you know that the hull doesn't have a serial number on it..trust me..i looked the whole boat over. I noted the SN on the plate as well and tried to research the SN without much success..thanks for the feedback..I will wait to see what the new plate says when I get it back
