can someone point me in the right direction? im going to replace the deck, stringers, and possibly the transom(god i hope not) on my 96 bayliner capri classic 1950 with a 3.0 mercruiser inboard. i was wanting to know if anyone has done that on this same boat and kept the same bow seating and lounge seat bases. i dont mind pulling them out to redo the deck but i havent seen any good threads or details concerning putting those back in or rebuilding them.
Also what years are the same hull? i want to say that body style is 1994-1998(not sure) but is that the same for the hull ? anyways just looking for some more info...and more...and more

Re: capri classic

The seats may have the bases full of foam, (my '85 capri is) and are generally glassed in place. They tend to come apart when removed. Be careful and you can get them out intact. If you have the coin for new seats, just pull them out and replace them with new. Check out the prices of lounge seats. Wise brand has some starting at around $200, and and the price goes up from there. The bow seats will have to be custom upholstered as I have never seen the bow seats sold aftermarket.

Re: capri classic

yeah the cushions will definately need to be reupholstered i am just curious obout the wooden bases. i havent seen anyone put the wood bases back in or i just cant find any threads where they have done it. yes i have seen the seats from wise and some other companies. when i bought my boat it had some cheap aftermarket(little) backtoback lounge seats from academy sports or wally world or something. I would like to get some nice ones that fit right but thats way down on the list of things to do.
