I am getting started on redoing the interior of a 1978 Caravelle that my dad and I just purchase. I want to add a bench seat in the back and get rid of the jump seats, which is pretty self explanatory. I will need to switch to captain seats in the front instead of the back to back seats. How do these seats attach? Do they just use screws, is there an expanding nut that they use? I am just curious. Does anyone have any recommendations on some affordable quality stands and seats. Thanks for your time.

Re: Captain Seats

Either way really, Through bolts are probably the best depending on how thick a deck you have. If you look through here there are some examples. I out a 3/4 plate and used screws to mount my chairs. There are a number of good pedestals out there. After a lot of looking I ended up with one from Wise ordered here from iboats. There also have seats but I haven't priced or looked at those.
