Hi I'm derek , I'm new here and a fresh boat owner.
I got a glasstron v 153 with a 60hp evinrude I think 70 or 71 triumph with seletric controls.

has not been registered and in water since 2001.
I have got controls wired but found some wire issues in the engine it's self the motorola power pack has rotted away wire coatings another part the varo labled item has a rotted wire. I also have disconnected all wire's with intent of picking up a manual ( well I didnt realise they were over 50.00 I'm used to 15.00 for a car manual.

I am looking for those to parts or a good wire diagrahm and any help i can find.

I am also in a rut the boat i was going to buy from a friend is now avaible its a 17' deck boat with a johnson 115 hydro shift boat is a sylvan also has a sticker on rear sides says glasstron carl---- can't make out rest. I am in fruitport michigan and want to get this boat fixed for experince and possibly sell to get the deck boat as I think it would suit us ( my family better )

If anyone has the parts for a reasonable price or just dont need them please let me know.

I have to get this figured out befor I can sink to much into it ( out of unemployment )

If you need a manual cheap poke around on Ebay, they usually have lots of OEM manual for a good price and lots of parts cheap.

From what I have read on here you don't want a hydro shift, they are hard to work on and parts are getting hard to find, once the lower goes out the motor is no good.

Why did you buy a boat if you are unemployed, boats are holes in the water that you throw money in.

I ended up trading some stuff I didnt use anymore. Mainly video games systems and stereo equipment. I just wanted something that we could all enjoy with a little work.

What is the model number of that engine? Small ID plate on port (left) transom bracket.

Which items have you determined that you need?

I would get yourself a manual, as you already know, read over the threads in the FAQ, and start doing searches here on iboats. There is a wealth of info to be had.

BTW, the mods will likely erase your personal info (phone #, email), as it is not allowed in this forum, for your protection mainly. Never know what kind of ppl are lurking about

ok well i have figured thus far the power pack wires are very damaged from rot I am going to attempt to remove bad wire and solder new wire to the remaing good wire also there are 2 wire coming out of the head at bottem that are in need of replacing

I have the modle number at home but I think its something like 6006 then a letter

the plate says model is 60063d? I have yet to find anything via google for it
