Again, I have a Sea Eagle 9 (www.seaeagle.com). I dont like the idea of inflating my boat anymore so I have decided for this season I will leave it inflated and car mount it. What is the safest way to do so? I dont have a car mount, I have just used ropes securing the boat to the roof. I secure i1 set of ropes to the front and another to the back. I then use another set of ropes to secure the Bow (?) and stern (?) to the back.

Ive used nylon rope from walmart, but the package sugest I not use it to secure things that might "plane" with tthat said, what type of rope is reccomended?

get yourself some of the tie downs made from safety belt material, they work the best ...

Re: Car topping an inflatable

iuse a ratetcheting tie down across the middle.
put boat on top of car, open doors.
run tie down end up side of boat in the middle, through handles if aplicable, over boat, through handle on other side of boat, down side, and into car.
inside car hook ends of tie downs together and tighten. now boat is secured to the top of car almost.
run line from front point of boat down to bumber, and tie off. take out all slack you can, that keeps the front from rising.
tie each side in the back to the bumper. now your boat should be secure.
load car, close doors and hit the road.
to recap, you have a line comming off the point of boat to front bumber, to keep nose from rising, a line/tie down around the middle of boat, going through car to keep boat secure to top of the car, and the back end has a line from each side securing the back end to the bumper.
you will have some play, but it wont go anywhere. remember to check the pressure if parking, dont want boat to pop.
