I ajust all my carbs till i get the highest speed at idle then a 1/8 turn out from there (1/8 turn richer). Then reajust the idle speed screw back to spec. your going to want to do this adjustment in gear.
if your getting a poor idle you might want to clean out the carb first. because even the newest 470s are 20 years old now.
