carb adjustments

Ive got a 1974 inline mercury 115 horse ive rebuilt the carbs put nall new fuel line bulb but i just cant get the thing to run right when setting the fast idle screws what should i turn them at i read you can turn them 2 1/2 turns but that doesnt seem to work what can i do to syncronize thos carbs also should ther be a vent to open on my tank its a 20 gallon tank and i always read about peoples vents but dont know what that means boat bogs at wot

the vent on the tank needs to be wide open. you are causing vaccuum there if it is not. start with opening the vent and start from scratch on the turns. 2 1/2 is quite a bit. i think you'll find the vent is a lot of the problem

thanks for the response where would i find the vent its a metal tank down the middle of the floor
