1986 Bayliner, Volvo 260A. New Motar, coil, dist, plugs, all filters. The engine idles great, under load she is still fine. Problem is I am only getting about 2800-2900 rpms at wot.
Timing is at 8 degrees bftc.

Could this be the carb adjustment screws? By the way that is also brand new. Last season I was getting about 4000-4300 rpms at WOT. This is with just me on the boat.

If the carb needs adjustment, what is the starting point on the screws? Should I screw them closed and start from there? What would the number of turns be to start with?

As always thnx guys.

Re: Carb adjustments

Impossible to say what your actual problem is. Your WOT rpms last year were on the low side.
When was your last full tuneup?
After that, I would say use the chart below and starte eliminating possible problems.
