I have a '76 55hp on my fishing boat. I can get a good deal on a '77 55hp that has been dismantled. I will likely buy it for the prop and hood alone, but trying to squeeze as many parts out of it as I can.

I damaged the carb body float chamber on my '76, so was hoping to use this '77 carb but according to parts manuals the '77 is different. Anyone know what would have changed?

I can think of some other major differences between the '76 and '77 but cant see what they would have done to the carbs.

Any input would be great.

I would swap them as a set rather than trying to piece them together. That way you won't have an mis-matched jets, etc. They were constantly changing the carbs over the years, trying to get better idle, smoother acceleration, etc.
