carb float level

I have an 81 model 70hp Evinrude out board. Can anyone tell me what the float level setting is for this motor??<br /><br />cheers <br />mike

G'Day, Micar.<br /><br />Your manual usually gives instructions. If you don't have one, get one.<br /><br />In the meantime, Most engines will perform well if the float is set so that when you turn the carb top over the top of the float is parallel with the gasket surface.<br /><br />Good luck.

I agree w/ JB. You can order manuals for most outboards online.
