I just bought this motor, & haven't had a chance to get the manual yet. I was hoping someone would know the proper settings, so I can try to run it tomorrow. There's about 1.25" of float drop & it's level with the carb body when inverted. It seems to be flooding when it's running (gas coming out the throat). I did buy a kit for it, & it's very well cleaned.

1.25" of float drop? where are you measuring from?? as daviet said , level is right, and the only way it should flood is if there is a problem with the needle and seat. and when you say "cleaned very well" do you mean blown out with air and carb cleaner...or cleaned with a wire, through every passage with welch plug out and then cleaned??

New needle, new seat, & #26 is in it's place. I'm measuring float drop from the bottom of the carb body to the bottom of the float. Would that be a "brain fart"? What's it supposed to be & to where? Didn't see a welch plug in this model, but a wire has been passed through all the passages, along with cleaner & 120psi of compressed air. DSC00104.JPG

flip that upside down , make the float level with the carb body and that is good. the float should never drop that far unless you run out of fuel.
