Need help with motor or carb year(s) carb part number is 1374-5427. Serial numbers do not match powerhead. Frost plug on powerhead is gone. Have no clue what year motor is and think it is a 200hp. I just need a part number for a float.
Sounds like a hot engine you can goto the BAM Marine site and lookup the carb and they will list the kit also you should be able to fine the serial number group and trace that to the year the engine was built
Same thing I figured when I got it. But in Oklahoma this is common to put 150hp decals on your motor and remove the serial number for tag purposes. They changed the law in about 1999 so you don t see it anymore unless it is a stolen one. Save alot of money on tags if you are 150hp and lower back in the day this motor was new or like new.
I wish it was that easy but the part number on the carb is discontinued and not found on all the sites if I knew the year of the carbs I could find a used one.
Mercury dealers have a where used book, a dealer can take any merc part number and ck to see which year and model engines that the part is used on, so if you have a dealer near you he should be able to narrow it down for you
