Re: Carb Flooding?

if you have a sheared flywheel key the flywheel magnets will not trigger the ignition coils at the correct time causing spart to be fired at wrong time.

The link and sync is covered in your manul.

Its used to set the timeing sequence between fuel delevery and the advanceing of the timeing of iginition.

If its out of sync. it will cause stalling at idel when you go into gear if the timeing starts to advance and the prop starts to turn those two things puts more load on the engine and it dies. If you do it ten times it will die ten times.

On the 11th or mabey 15th time you will get lucky and can get it to start moveing up on the high speed side of the carbs. (heap big frustration)

Its advanceing timeing before the carb butterfly's beging to open. They both have to happen at the same time precisley.

Good luck

So then this may be caused by a sheared flywheel key - if the spark is fired at the wrong times, that may explain why it turns over but does not start. I will also need to look at the timing on Tuesday - I need to work for the next couple of days. Thanks for all of your help.
