Re: carb gasket

I don't see them available here at I boats,or from Sierra.Have you tried Mercurypartsexpress ? They are OEM parts.

Re: carb gasket

jim, I gave you 2 sites that have some parts available, did you ck them, I couldn't because they used a couple of differant carb and you need the carb number. I also cked a few Yamaha sites and they don't list that motor(no suprise they didn't export any sterndrives to the US either) so I thought it might be a Tohotsu so I cked they did build it either, a least with what carb on it--Bob

Re: carb gasket

jimlad, I had no trouble finding your carb online w/Merc. But I do it on the dealer site.Spot checked a few parts as no kits were listed, and found parts are NLA (no longer available). And I couldn't find your carb on Nissan,Suzuki or Yamaha.Doesn't mean it's not there,I just didn't find it.

I would pull the carb, turn it upside down and loosen the 3 bowl screws, and loosen the bowl.Spray carb cleaner around the edges,to loosen the bowl gasket. Then take it apart, clean, and re-use what you have.

Not the best way,so keep looking.

i did exactly that today stripped the whole carb down and gave it a damn good clean it was in a right state i gave the gaskets a good clean as they are made of rubber, luckly it was still whole when i took the bowl gasket off so hopefully that will be ok ,thanks for having a look around for the parts for me i spent most of the day looking the other day and found no gaskets at all and any parts i did find for my motor they dont ship to uk so its a bit of a nightmare
thanks again

Re: carb gasket

jimlad,

I did a little more looking. And you might want to look at 'dougrussell.com'.He seems to have parts available for your carb. The bowl gasket is almost $11.00 (us) and shipping will probably be a killer. But something to keep in mind for the future.Maybe create a "stocking" order and get a bunch of parts.
