Hey guys I need some help here. I've got a 1997 25hp evinrude that i just rebuilt the carb on. Ran good on 1st test drive after test run but didnt idle quiet right. 2nd time out idled really ruff and would stall at idle but ran fine wide open under load. So i readjusted the float. Now it idles fine and reves up great. But under load in the water it stalls when taking off like its starved for gas. Is cause my float is not adjusted properly or something else. I have replace the gas tank and fuel lines and bulb. Thanks Rusty

Re: Carb help

With the carb turned up-side-down, the float should be level. Your low speed idle may be out of adjustment...if you have one!

During rebuild, did you clean out very passage with compressed air and a fine wire? Check each passage with light to ensure that it is clear.

Re: Carb help

OK I took the carb apart tonight and found the nozzle gasket was missing. I guess it fell off when i adjusted the float the last time. So tomorrow ill get another carb kit and replace the missing gasket and maybe this will solve the dilemma.
