As to the poisition of the jets in any outboard carb,is the lowest one usually slow jet,or fast?My Solo has one in very bottom, and one .5" or so higher. Also,on the slow jet, does making out adj. screw give more air,or more gas?

Re: Carb jets

Generally speaking lower one is high speed. Also turning out is richer though
some odd ball carbs are opposite.Usually if idle screw is too lean the motor will sneeze at idle.

Re: Carb jets

Could be in for rich, who knows? As you lean it out it will run faster till it is too lean, then it will sneeze and quit. As you make it richer, it will slow down and load up and quit. These are only general guidelines and are speaking of the slow speed adjustment. They could have it calibrated so that you can't achieve such extremes. Don't have any experience with a solo, but a carb is a carb.
