Carb kits

Hi,<br /><br />I have to rebuild a carb for a 1966 33 HP Johnson. Are there any differences in carb rebuild kits from NAPA, Johnson dealer, etc.?<br /><br />Thank you.

Some include the float, some don't. That's about it.

The dealer kit that has the float, has a plastic float. The Sierra (available from NAPA) kit from what I've heard, has a cork float.<br /><br />The plastic float is what you want. The cork floats are finished in a varnish which is not resistant to fuels that contain alcohol. This results in a fuel soaked float that will no longer float, which in turn will flood the engine.
