That's more like it, jets shouldn't cost $14. I'm saving that link.

Just a note to say, I try to buy my parts here at IBoats if they have the parts. Where else can you get professional help like is on this forum? Myself, I feel IBoats deserves my patronage. Thanks Iboats!

That being said, Now back to the soldered jet.
It could have been that the PO had soldered the idle jet because the carb is worn out on the butterfly shaft, allowing too much air to be mixed for idle....Just a thought

Well, I figured if i was going to have to buy a new jet I might as well try to solder this one shut. I put a bead of solder on it, screwed it in, and it idles almost perfect. I may just leave it like it is now until fall or the first of winter. I'm using it too much right now for it to be out of commission.

Sounds like you are back to where you started but with almost perfect idle. When you get back to it in the fall, check your link arm and make sure throttle plates are both fully closed at idle.
